New technology has introduced the ability to design and manufacture crowns using computers.

Before using the CAD/CAM device, the tooth must first be prepared. It is initially ground, and then a reflecting powder is sprinkled over it. A special camera records an accurate image of the tooth. This image is then displayed on a computer screen, allowing us to redesign the damaged tooth. Based on the computer-designed dental replacement, the Cerec AC system precisely carves the new tooth from special ceramic blocks made of one piece. The crown is then painted and glazed in a special furnace before being permanently fixed to the ground tooth.
