Clinical diagnosis
The patient is 70 years old. A metal-ceramic bridge had previously been placed in the upper jaw, while multiple teeth are missing in the lower jaw. Due to prior bone loss and gum problems (inflammation around implants), the oral condition was complex and required extensive treatment.
Treatment
Phase 1 – Preparation and Implant Placement
On the right side of the upper jaw, a bone augmentation procedure (sinus lift) was performed to create suitable conditions for implant placement. Following this, six Bredent implants were placed in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw.
Phase 2 – Temporary Solution
While waiting for the implants to integrate with the bone (over the following months), a temporary restoration was provided so that the patient would have functional and aesthetically acceptable teeth during this period.
Phase 3 – Fabrication of Permanent Restoration
After four months, the fabrication of the permanent prosthetic work began:
- A precise impression of the jaws was taken.
- A plastic model of the future teeth was made to assess appearance and function.
- A metal (titanium) framework was constructed, onto which the teeth were later mounted.
- Multiple try-ins were conducted to verify appearance, positioning, and stability.
- Finally, the definitive restoration with a gum-colored mask was fabricated and cemented in the patient’s mouth.
The procedure was successful, and the patient received a stable, fully functional, and aesthetically perfect prosthetic restoration.
